Last Blog Post

This is probably going to end up being my last blog post. I've actually enjoyed having these blogs because I like reading the feedback people have about my posts and also being able to read and comment on what other people write. I think that you can tell a lot about a person by their writing style.
This year in English was a productive one because we learned a lot while actually doing reading and work. My favorite part of the class was "college days" because I learned massive amounts of helpful information I know I'm going to use in the future. This year in English was a successful one.

My Sister's Keeper

My Sister's Keeper comes out in theaters on June 26, 2009. This movie is based on the famous book by Jodi Piccoult. The book is a about a young girl ( Anna) who is not sick but she might as well be. By the time she hits thirteen she has had countless surgeries, transfusions, and shots so that her older sister Kate can fight leukemia that has affected her since childhood. The product of a genetic masterpiece, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate. Anna finally decided to challenge this and says she wants to protect her body. This unthinkable decisions may not only tear her family apart but may also kill the sister that she loves.
The movie looks very interesting because I have heard from people all around me that the book is amazing! I would like to read the book before seeing the movie because usually books are better then the movies. This is definitely a movie you will want to keep an eye on. Not only does it look great but it also is directed by the same person that directed " The Notebook."

American Idol Results

The American Idol finale was the best I've seen in a while even though the results didn't turn out the way I hoped they would. There were HUGE stars performing like Jason Mraz, Carlos Santana, KISS, and many others. Kris Allen took home the title. He was known throughout the season as the underdog who made his way to the top. You could tell that his friends and family were very proud. I personally think that Kris was shocked at his win.
I think that Kris Allen stole the hearts of many young girls for his looks, but otherwise he is just a good singer that you could hear anywhere. Adam Lambert was funky and different. Adam's voice and rage was incredible and there was no doubt that he is more talented based on solely voices. Some people think Adam didn't win because of his crazy look like his nail polish. Maybe America was after the all American boy Kris but there is no doubt Adam will steal his stage and be highly successful later on in the future!
I was very disappointed to find out that Adam didn't win but I'm happy to know that he will be successful in the future. He won't be an American Idol that is lost in the wind. We all will be hearing about both Adam and Kris in the near future.

American Idol Season Finale

So I'll admit that I'm a nerd and have gotten to be a huge fan of American Idol this season. I haven't been actively watching American Idol for years but for some reason this year my mom started watching it each week. After hearing the tv on in the family room and walking past in multiple times I eventually decided to sit down.  Instantly I become intrigued and began watching each week. I think this season is really entertaining because this season has different types of people who perform different types of music. This week is the last week of idol until next season. The two contests left are Adam Lambert and Kris Allen. Both contestants are very talented and either could win. I personally hope that Adam wins it because he is a true showman and different then anyone else that has ever been on the show. No matter who wins, both will be famous and successful. I guess we will just have to wait until tomorrow night to see the results!
Does anyone else watch American Idol? If so, what do you think about the show this season?

MTV MOVIE AWARDS 2009!

The MTV awards are taking place on May 31, 2009. I don't know about you but I am extremely excited for this because Andy Samberg is hosting!! Most you know Andy Samberg from SNL, the movie I Love You Man, or from random skits such as "On A Boat" and "Like a Boss." I think Andy Samberg is very talented and a very funny guy.  He will make a great host!
I also hope to see Heath Ledger win for best villian for the role of The Joker and to see The Dark Knight win for best fight scene. I also hope to see James Franco win for best comedic for Pineapple Express. I think James Franco is amazing! Check out this link and tell me who you want to see win! I will be posting the winners of the movie awards after the show aires.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

This weekend I went to go see a movie with my family for mother's day. We went to see Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. I thought the movie was just going to be ok but after seeing I realized it was MUCH better then expected. It was a fun loving light comedy and I really ended up enjoying it.
Ghosts of Girlfriends past is about Connor Mead ( McConaughey) who is a big time photographer who usually takes photos of girls in lingerie. Because he is so notorious girls constantly throw themselves at him. In other word Mead is known for being a player. Connor's brother Paul is about to get married and Connor thinks the comittment is a huge mistake. The night before their wedding Connor is visited by three ghosts who take him back to his past, present, and future. They try to discover why Connor doesn't believe in love or settling down. Maybe through his life he can be changed. To find out more I highly suggest seeing this movie!

Ragtime!!! May 6-9

This week I decided to do something a little bit different. Ragtime the musical is being performed in Cypress Bay's auditorium on May 6-9 at 7 p.m. The tickets cost 7 dollars at the door and 5 if you buy them during all lunches. The show Ragtime is about how different races and cultures interact through a story. The story connects the three groups of Harlem, New Rochelle, and Ellis Island immigrants. The show has great talent and it was a lot of fun making it! A lot of time any money have been put into the show for your entertainment. Also, if you are in AP American you might want to consider seeing the show because there are some historical references. What a perfect and fun way to study for your test on Friday!? If anyone is interested you can buy tickets from me!

American Idol

This week I decided to talk about something a little different. The number one favored reality tv show in the United States is American Idol. American Idol kick started it's career back in 2002 when Kelly Clarkson won. Since then Idol has made regular people become celebrities. Some of the most successful idols include Kelly Clarkson, Chris Daughtry, Carrie Underwood, David Cook, and David Archuleta. Since being on the t.v. show these stars have continued to excel and become successful in their careers.
American Idol judges say that this year's contestants hold the most talent as a group then ever seen before in a season. The four contestants left are Kris Allen, Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta, and the infamous ADAM LAMBERT. Last week when Adam was in the bottom two spots judges and fans everywhere were appalled. Judges say that each week Adam continues to surprise many with him range and showman abilities. Adam is favored to win it all and personally I hope he does! All the rest of the contestants are extremely talented and it would be a shame to see any of them go. Who do you think will win it all?

The Soloist- Coming to a theatre near you!

Since I recently saw Jamie Foxx on an interview, my blog is about his new and upcoming movie "The Soloist."  "The Soloist" starring Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. is about a schizophrenic man named Nathaniel Ayers ( Foxx) who is a homeless musician from L.A. Ayers dreams of playing at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Lucky for him he meets a journalist named Steve Lopez (Jr.) who tries to help Ayers get back into normal society and make his dreams a reality. Based on a true story Lopez becomes Ayers friend, but is caring enough to help a person who has a mental illness?
I found this movie to sound very interesting because it is based on the true story and Lopez who was a journalist in reality published this story and now it is becoming a movie. Movie's that are based on true stories are also more seem more emotional for me because the story actually happened and when you take the chance to think that through it makes the story even more amazing!
Check out the trailer and let me know what you think.

Drama States

This week I decided to go a little off topic with my blog. This past week/weekend I attended the Florida States Thespian convention in Tampa. You get to go to states if you received a ranking of an excellent or superior at districts. When you compete at districts there are many categories such as acting, musical theatre, set design, and costumes, that you can take part it. Every category has a solo section, duet, or large group. I went to districts and performed in a large group of 16 girls. We performed a song called "Just Arrived" from the musical Copacabana. We got judged and got straight superiors. At states we also got a superior there too. The rankings in order can be poor, fair, good, excellent, or superior. In other words getting a superior is very good. It was alot of fun and about 36 kids from AMT went and competed. The drama kids at the convention were really friendly and loud. We spent four nights there and as well as competed saw shows and went to different workshops. It was a great experience because I learned alot.

17 Again!

Zac Efron went to starring in the roles of High School Musical to having a role in Hairspray and eventually his starring role in 17 Again. Critics are saying that 17 Again is surprisingly Efron’s best acting. People who aren’t even fans of Efron found that they loved the movie.  Matthew Perry, Leslie Mann,  and Thomas Lennon also star in the film . The movie is about a man who was formerly  a high school basketball star. College scouts were after him but he sacrificed everything to stay with his girlfriend who was unexpectedly pregnant. 20 years passes and he is about to get a big promotion at work, his marriage is failing, and he teenage kids hate him. Mike eventually stays with his best friend and out of no where turns back into his 17 year old self but as part of the 2009 class. Mike then discovers that by recapturing his best years he could risk loosing everything he’s ever worked for he needs to make a decision that could affect his future and past.  I didn’t get a chance to see this movie yet but it looks amazing! It’s gotten surprisingly good reviews and everyone that saw it seemed to enjoy it. Check out the trailer or if you’ve seen it let me know what you think?

Bamboozle!

Wednesday night I went to the Bamboozle road tour concert. The bands performing were Mercy Mercedes, Nevershoutnever, The Cab, Forever the Sickest Kids, and We The Kings. The show was at Revolution in Ft. Lauderdale and it was amazing!! All the bands sounded better live then they do on their cds. What I always like about going to smaller shows is that at smaller shows you can get really close up to the stage and usually can meet the bands. At arenas if you are far away from the performers you can't usually see that great and almost never can you meet them unless you have a special pass. At smaller shows the band members just walk around, meet tons of fans and act like they are normal people. Every single one of the band members I met was really nice and seemed to actually enjoy meeting the fans. To say the least it was a fun night!

Best of Both Worlds: Hannah Montana the Movie!

She has the best of both worlds... now she just has to choose one. Over spring break I saw the Hannah Montana movie. Although I love the show on Disney Channel I admit it is a little corny. I thought the movie was AMAZING!!! It was funny, enjoyable, and I'm not going to lie and one point I may have teared up. Reviews say Miley Cyrus was great in it and so was the whole Hannah Montana cast. New addition, Lucas Till, who plays Travis the cowboy, has stole the hearts of many teens. Critics say if you were between the ages of 6-16 you'd love the movie. If you were an older teen or adult who doesn't have a child you probably wouldn't be interested in seeing it.
Miley Stewart struggles to juggle schools, friends and her pop star life. When Hannah's blooming popularity threatens to take over Miley's whole life she just might let it. Her father takes the teen to her hometown of Crowley Corners Tennessee for a some reality. Miley is surprised with new friends, boys, laughter and fun not even she could imagine!

Whether being a fan of Miley or not, if you saw the movie what did you think of it?

I Love You Man

" I Love You Man" the movie recently came out. So far it has gotten great reviews. The comedy stars Paul Rudd, Rashida Jones, and Snl's Andy Samberg.  This romantic comedy is about Peter ( Paul Rudd), who is about to get married, realizes he doesn't have a best man. Like his dad says throughout his whole life he's only been friends with girls. Peter then goes on a man hunt in search of a best man. After going on multiple disaster dates he meets a fun loving guy, Sydney, he realizes the more he hangs out with him the more he learns about him self. He also learns who he wants his best man to be. This comedy was given a B by Entertainment Weekly. Although I haven't had a chance to see this movie yet I'm so excited to! I'm a huge fan of Andy Samberg so I'm looking forward to it. Word on the street is this movie was a success and worth it to see.

Kid's Choice Awards!

The Kid's Choice Awards 2009 did not disappoint! This year Dwanye "The Rock" Johnson hosted the show. Throughout the night he brought on a lot of slime and even dressed up like Miley Cyrus!? High School Musical 3 shocked the audience by winning best movie over Dark Knight and Iron Man. American Idol won best reality tv which isn't a surprise because it's won the past 4 years. The Jonas Brothers also took home an award for best music group which was no surprise either. Miley Cyrus was extremely excited to find out she won best female singer after not winning for best tv show. I believe everyone watching caught her tearing up! Taylor Lautner accepted the award for best book series "Twilight." The night had the biggest slime event ever and had old favorites on the stage such as Leonardo Dicaprio and Will Smith. The night was filled with fun memories and stunts for the audience. What did you think?

XOXO, Gossip Girl

****Spoiler Alert******Every Monday  I look forward to watching one of my favorite tv shows, Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl is currently in it's second infamous season. Teens, adults and people of all ages gather around on Monday nights to watch it. Gossip Girl is very different then the books because although the idea was based of the books, the events that happen and some of the characters and portrayed differently. Although I love the books, I think that the tv is extremely entertaining as well.
This weeks Gossip Girl returned after a very long break. The episode consisted of some shocks and twists. Miss Rachel, the teacher that gives off the sweet and innocent vibe had sexual relations with a student and revealed a secret in a gossip blog. She is finally gone for good. The episode has a school play with a cute director. After Serena starts falling for him we find out that he's gay. Dan breaks up with Rachel because she tells Serena's secret through a Gossip Blog. Chuck was seen running around with people from his dad's secret ex-club. The major even that happened was Blair not getting into Yale because she "lied about a teacher student relationship. Will Dan come forward and say it was true, to save Blaire's reputation?

Twilight on DVD March 21, 2009

The much anticipated Twilight DVD is being released on Saturday, March 21. Twilight fans are extremely excited for the DVD with deleted scenes and extra bonus features to come out. The movie was said to be not completely up to expectations of most Twilight fans. Although the cast was VERY good looking the movie just did not compare to the books. Parts of the movie were not only different from the book but also kind of a disappointment. For example, the meadow scene just wasn't the same as the book and Edward's character, played by Rob Pattinson, did a good job but seemed way harsher then Edward was portrayed in the book. Usually, books are always better then the actual movies. Twilight fans still seemed to support, cheer, and respect the movie. Who knows maybe the second one will live up to expectations?
For viewers that did not read the book, they found the movie to be slow and kind of boring. Because readers already knew what to expect and what to look for many viewers though parts of the movie were boring and unnecessary. Others thought the movie was confusing and didn't understand it because they left out some essential parts that are in the book.  All in all the movie was supported even though it was different then the book. You have to look at it in a whole different perspective.  On  personal note, I met Taylor Lautner ( Jacob Black) and Edi Gatheg who seemed really excited for the movie but also proud of their hard work. The entire cast had high expectations to live up to.

Music Made Easy

So today I decided to write about something a little bit different. Everyone likes to listen to music on the radio and on their ipods but the problem with the radio is sometimes you don't always like all of the songs playing. The problem with ipods can be not having enough money to constantly download every new song that you like. People will usually download limewire so some other illegal website to download music. This can make computers slow and causes them to crash.
I was recently shown a new website that incorporates music that you like. On pandora you can create your own radio station and pick songs and/or artists you like and they will include those songs on your radio station. The website will also put related songs and artists on that they think you will like. There are thumbs up and thumbs down signs that you can click to tell them if you like it or not. If you don't like it they will never play it again. You can have multiple stations for example a rock one, hip hop one, etc. After you make your stations you can listen to the music on your computer or upload it to your iphone. This is a great way to enjoy the music you like FOR FREE. Try it out! www.pandora.com

Britney Spears: Circus Tour

Britney Spears kicked off her much anticipated tour last week in New Orleans. In her show she performed songs from the new Circus album as well some old songs, such as, "toxic", "Do something", "hit me baby one more time", "I'm a Slave for you" and many more. Britney went through may costume changes and set changes as there was a lot of scenery and things going on during the concert. Her opening act was The Pussycat Dolls who didn't disappoint says reviews and Perez Hilton announced her. Britney had a lot to prove on this tour and had a lot at stake. Hopefully this won't be the last we see of her on tour.

The review have said that Britney most likely sang along with backing tapes and vocalists. For better or worse, many fans do not expect her to sing live. It's all about the scenery and dancing which there was said to be plenty. With all the dancing and running around she does it would be impossible to sound good live.  Britney was also said to not adress the audience at all until she said goodbye. She didn't even say hello or anything along the way. I probably would've been disappointed if I was a fan and was seeing her for the first time and if she didn't address the audience.

Reviews say as the tour progresses, perhaps she'll loosen up. With so much at stake, and so much to prove, on the tour's first night she was focused on the complex concert. Did any of you see the concert? What did you think?

Chris Brown can't Run It after all...

Chris Brown and Rihanna are back together!? The pair have reunited almost three weeks after Chris Brown allegedly battered the singer on Feb. 8, a source says. " They're together again because they really do care for each other," says the source. The on and off couple and are currently spending time together at one of Sean "Diddy" Comb's homes , in Miami Beach's star island. " While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves. Supposedly Chris Brown called Rihanna on her 21st birthday one week ago. Both Rihanna and Chris have reached out to each other and are trying to give it another shot. Chris Brown's police case has not been finalized and no charges have been made yet.
If the supposed rumor is that Rihanna gave Brown herpes then beat her up should she give him another chance? Did Chris have a reason to beat her up? What would you have done? If she gave him herpes could this possibly mean she was cheating on him?

Video Girl Rocked their world but did they rock yours??

The Jonas Brother's 3-D movie premiered in theatres last Thursday. The movie was highly anticipated by fans all over the country. The Jonas boys wanted fans to get a closer look on what their life on the road and during the tour was all about. In addition to that fans were able to get a look at the sold out concert if they weren't able to see them live. Because the Jonai appreciate their fans greatly they made suprise visits to random movie theatres across the country to suprise fans and watch the movie with them. They stopped in places such as Atlanta, Las Vegas, San Franico, Charolette, NY, Austin, and Houston. The boys said that this was just a way to show their fans how much they are appreciated.

However, critics rated this "amazing" ( said by fans) and "mediocre" said by critics a 2 out of 5 stars. Critics said that while they like the boys and respect there work they don't think they should be associated with Disney. Being associated with Disney brings them down to a lower level and makes the fans base at a younger age average.

I personally feel that when stars start out on Disney they don't make very much money. Disney does not pay their child stars very much. The advertisement and fame they get out of the Disney Channel is what makes them rich and famous. Although, by separating from the Disney the boys would get more respect and be able to do things in a more mature way, Disney is what started them and gave them their celebrity lives in the first place. I think that if Disney fans are going to back away they should still pay respect to Disney and promote Disney in not such a straight- forward way. Maybe by having a commerical on disney rather then having a tour sponsered by them. What do you think? Should Disney stars be backed by Disney forever?

Best and Worst Dressed of Oscars 09'

Many spectators of the Oscars listen for the award choices, but a major part of the Oscars involved viewing the fashion of the stars. This year some people were dressed right on spot and some.....not so much. According to a pole online people voted with 30% of the total vote, Access’ audience thought that Kate Winslet, in her asymmetric Atelier Yves Saint Laurent evening gown, was the most stunning fashion star of the night. Natalie Portman took second place in her bright pink Rodarte gown, capturing 27% of the vote. n third, Anne Hathaway in her shimmering Armani Prive gown and accompanying Cartier diamonds, which won 23% of the vote. Angelina Jolie, who wore a simple black strapless Elie Saab gown with emerald Lorraine Schwartz earrings, followed in fourth place with 20% of the vote. According to Seattle Style examine Sarah Jessica Parker in her Dior dress was the best most elegant dresser of the evening and Anne Hathaway turned a few heads. Seattle Style said worst dressed goes to Miley Cyrus as number one, Heidi Klum for second, and Beyonce for third. How bad could these made up celebs really look? My personal favorites were Jennifer Anniston, Anne Hathaway, Brad Pitt, and James Franco. Both Brad and James had elegant choices for their suits. What were some of your favorites?

Best Supporting Actor goes to: HEATH LEDGER!!

A month before his death Heath Ledger sat down with his sister Kate in Perth and showed her some top secret photos and film clips.
Yet to be made public, they were from his performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight, a film that would not be released in theatres for another eight months.
Kate was stunned. "I said to him, 'I have a feeling this is it for you. You are going to get a nomination'," said Kate, recalling the Christmas 2007 conversation. "He just looked at me and smiled. "He knew." As expected, Ledger won the best supporting actor Oscar for his scene-stealing performance as the Batman villain, an achievement that made him only the second actor to claim an Academy Award posthumously. With many moist eyes looking on, each took turns to speak. "This award tonight would've humbly validated Heath's quiet determination to be truly accepted by you all here, his peers, within an industry he so loved," Kim Ledger said.
Back stage, the trio admitted they were shaking when they heard their son and brother had won Hollywood's highest honour. Ledger, who died aged 28 on January 22, 2008 in his New York apartment from an accidental overdose of painkillers and sleeping pills, was the sole Australian winner at the 81st Academy Awards ceremony."

I was EXTREMELY happy that Heath Ledger won. He deserved it. His performance as the joker was one of a lifetime. Yesterday I watched a documentary that was about his life. It was about how he liked to act as his work but he didn't like the fame and everything esle that came with it. Ledger proved to be a genuine person not in the business for the money.

How do you feel about High School Musical 3!?

"High School Musical 3: Senior Year is the third installment in Disney's High School Musical film franchise. Its theatrical release in the United States began on October 24, 2008. Kenny Ortega returned as director and choreaographer as did all six primary actors.
This latest sequel follows high school seniors Troy and Gabriella, who are faced with the ultimate prospect of being separated after graduating from East High. Joined by the rest of their Wildcat friends, they stage an elaborate spring musical reflecting their experiences, hopes, and fears about the future.
In spite of receiving mixed reviews, in its first three days of release, High School Musical 3: Senior Year grossed $42 million in North America and an additional $40 million overseas, breaking the record for the largest opening weekend for a musical film."

High School Musical 3 is now officially out on dvd. When I was first asked to join some friends to see HSM3 I was not initially excited. The second movie was not a personal favorite of my and the first was alright. I gave in to them and eventually saw HSM3. I was kind of suprised my how much I liked it. Despite what anyone says the songs are catchy and even though the story is extremely unrealistic it's light hearted and entertaining. Needless to say I enjoyed the third more than I thought I ever would! It was actually good! What did you all think? My favorite character was rocket man! :)

Are you considered a SHOPOHOLIC!?

"Rebecca Bloomwood is a sweet and charming New York City girl who has a tiny, little problem that is rapidly turning into a big problem: she's hopelessly addicted to shopping and drowning in a sea of debt. While Rebecca has dreams of working for a top fashion magazine, she can't quite get her foot in the door -- that is, until she snags a job as an advice columnist for a new financial magazine published by the same company. Overnight, her column becomes hugely popular, turning her into an overnight celebrity, but when her compulsive shopping and growing debt issues threaten to destroy her love life and derail her career, she struggles to keep it all from spiraling out of control--and is ultimately forced to reevaluate what's really important in life."

The critics give Confessions of a Shopaholic a C+ but I would have to give it a B+. I always imagined the book as a movie a little bit differently. Firstly, the book is set in London, England not NYC. I never would've imagined Becky Bloomwood and a corney character with orange coats and purple boots. I imagined her as a rather...well.. sophisticated shopaholic that can make you laugh. The movie didn't dissapoint but certain parts I would have changed. Over all it was a cute, light hearted movie that I think any viewer who didn't read the books would have throughouly enjoyed! I thought Luke's character was portrayed very well and so was the use of the green scarf. If anyone's read the book or seen the movie they know what I'm talking about. The books are on of my FAVORITE series. But movies never live up to the potential as a book. I beleive its impossible to catch the moments the same and transfer them on screen. They managed to do a decent job, not fabulous but decent. I still would recommend seeing the movie. If anyone's seen the movie or read the books let me know what you thought! :)

Rihanna V. Chris Brown!?

When the Grammys finally approached Sunday night R&B's hottest couple were missing! Something had to have gone wrong. Little did everyone know instead the normally affectionate couple were involved in a violent fight that left Chris Brown booked on felony criminal threat charges. Sources say he turned himself in to the LAPD in Sunday at 6:43 p.m. Sources say Rihanna was the victim in the assault which occures around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Someone called 911 because of disturbance and statements were made by Rihanna who has visible injuries who said Brown attacked her. Hours after the inicdent witnesses spotted Brown and Rihanna leaving a London Hotel together earlier that morning.
During the Grammys Rihanna and Brown were no shows. Brown was charged with making criminal threats which means the victim " is in fear for his/her life." Brown might face criminal charges. Brown is having attorney Mark Geragos defending him. Geragos also helped defent Michael Jackson during his child molestation trial. I can't help wonder if there is another part to this story. Hollywood drama is always stretched. Could innocent only nineteen year old Chris Brown physicaly attack Rihanna!? If so, why did he turn himself in. Sounds interesting to me.....

51st Grammy's turns out to be a let down! :(

Although everyone involved with the Grammy's had said it would be the "show of a life time," I found it to be a let down. This is only my personal opinion of course. Since I am not a country fan I was dissapointed in the fact of how many country performs performed at the awards show. Additionally, I thought the show was rather long. Instead of announcing winners and having performances the show seemed to drag on and got a little dull towards the end. I was VERY unhappy to hear the neither Jason Mraz nor Jonas Brothers got a grammy. The Jonas Brothers won to the new British Pop sensation Adele. This made me very upset :( haha. I have always been a fan of Jason Mraz but when I got the chance to see him live and in person I was very impressed with his performance. He was probably one of the best single performers I have ever seen. His music is different and he sounds BETTER live then on a CD. It was a disspointment to not see him win a Grammy because he deserves it!!! It was also a shame that he was only nominated for "I'm Yours," because many of his songs are better then that one. On the other hand, I was thrilled to see performances by Jonas Brothers, Lil Wayne, Justin Timberlake and T.I., Stevie Wonder, Kate Perry, Jennifer Hudson etc. Here is a list of the winners!! P.S. If you watched the award show let me know what you thought of it? Were you disspointed with the performances and/or winners?

Heath Ledger: To be or not to be? That is the question.

These past few months have brought alot of award shows. The Grammy's are coming up this weekend and the Oscars in a few weeks. All of these awards bring about exciting news. My focus of interest this time is on Heath Ledger. In case you didn't know the one year mark since his death was just a few weeks ago. Since his tragic death and the release of Batman: The Dark Knight , many people have been gossiping about him. Will he win the Oscar has been the major controversy. He did win a golden globe for best supporting actor a few weeks ago. Christopher Nolan took the award on his behalf. Many people say that Heath Ledger deserves this Oscar whether he was dead or alive. Others say that he is only getting this award because he has passed on. If you ask me Heath Ledger as "The Joker" was the best performance of his life. It is probably my favorite character ever in a movie. I'm crossing my fingers that he wins the Oscar for best supporting actor. Hoping you'll be praying too! He deserves it!

"He's going to win. There's no reason not to vote for him," says Johanna Schneller, film columnist for The Globe and Mail. "He was compelling, he was magnetic, he was interesting, he was unusual, he just did everything right. It's just a shame it's the last movie we get to see him in." If that doesn't say it all what does? Let me know what you think!

Bruce Springsteen "The Boss" performs at half time show!

Super Bowl weekend is always a huge deal at my house. Sometimes I wonder if my dad makes it too much of a big deal... Anyways the Steelers led to a ecstatic victory! But that wasn't all that had the crowd pumped! Bruce Springsteen's half time performance really put things over the top at Tampa's Florida Raymond James Stadium. Springsteen aka "The Boss" gave a hyped up, much anticipated performance. ( He's 59!!! He must be in great shape!) Springsteen said, " For the next 12 minutes, we're going to bring righteous power of the E Street Band into your home!" Next Springsteen hopped onto a piano yelling, " Is there anybody alive out there?!"

And by the crowds reaction, there definitely was. His performance started off with "10th Avenue Freezeout" and next thing you know there he is sliding across stage directly smashing into a cameraman! All he did was smile and handle it like a professional.

All in all it was an exciting Super Bowl with some fun memories. Jennifer Hudson led the night with the singing of the national anthem. What did you all think of Bruce Springsteen's performance? Also, were there any good commercials that anyone noticed? That's personally my favorite part of the Super Bowl. Ha ha.

Lights! Camera! Action!

With the weekend right around the corner some people may be interested in seeing a movie. There are three new movies coming out on January 30, 2009. These three movies are "New In Town", "Univited", and "Taken." One that sparked my interest was the horror movie Univited.
The movie, a suspense thriller, is base on 'The Uninvited,' the 2003 Korean motion picture. Anna returns home after spending time in a psychiatric hospital following her mother's horrible death and discovers that her mother's former nurse, Rachel, has moved into their house and become engaged to her father. Soon after she learns this shocking news, Anna is visited by her mother's ghost, who warns her that Rachel is evil. Both, Anna and her sister must convince their father that his new fiancee is not who she pretends to be, and what should have been a happy family reuion becomes a intense battle between stepsisters and a step mother.
I watched the trailer and it seemed very interestng to me. Who knows maybe I'll go check it out for myself this weekend. What do you think of the trailer?

My Blog.. 51st Grammy Awards around the corner!

This is my first blog. In the future my blog will have updates on upcoming movies, popular TV shows, celebrity news, music and more!

With the 51st Grammy awards just around the corner there is alot to talk about! The 2009 grammy's will take place on February 8, 2009. It is said that we will see nominees such as Coldplay, Alicia Keys, and Lil Wayne getting this year's nods. Some confirmed performances consist of Coldplay, Jennifer Hudson, Jonas Brothers, Lil Wayne, Kate Perry, TI, Carrie Underwood and more. Lil Wayne topped the nominations with 8. Follwed by Kanye West, Coldplay and Jay-z with seven nominations. The event will be help at the Staples Center in Los Angeles California.

I am personally hoping to see Lil Wayne, Jason Mraz, Jonas Brothers ( yes I am a hardcore fan. haha) and TI take hope awards. I'm also anxious to see John Mayer, Coldplay and others perform. I enjoy watching award shows because I went to the Teen Choice Awards in the summer and it is interesting to see how all the stars and stage people act when it's a commercial break and the cameras aren't on.
